The Innersound Wellness & Meditation Centre, a London-based not-for-profit center dedicated to helping people with an Eastern and holistic approach to wellness, announces a fundraising concert with internationally acclaimed Spanish Guitarist Rafael Andia, featuring brilliant young virtuoso Claire Sananikone. The event will take place at the Bolivar Hall (54 Grafton Way, London, W1T 5DL, tube: Warren Street) on Friday 2nd September 2011 at 7.30 pm. Tickets are ?20. For reservations, please contact 02074628811 or email events(at)innersound(dot)org.

Rafael Andia?s concert in the Bolivar Hall is the first appearance on a London stage and he will be playing in a duet with a young guitar prodigy, already well-established in France, Claire Sananikone. They will perform a program of Spanish Music accompanied by multi-media, as a tribute to the artists who lived and died during the Spanish Civil War, as well as premiering his own composition, Immemorial, a musical fresco celebrating Pablo Picasso?s famous painting, Guernica. Andia and Sananikone will also showcase works by Falla, Murail, Brouwer, Torroba.

?We are honored and thrilled to have Rafael?s support and offer to perform in our fundraising concert, ? said Eric Cathan of the The Innersound, Wellness & Meditation Centre. ?His music is incredibly poetic and powerful, touching people?s hearts deeply.?

Rafael Andia, based in Paris, is a classical guitarist born in France of Spanish parents. His highly successful international career spans three decades and he was also a professor of Experimental Physics at the Sorbonne University. He features in the ?Dictionary of Great Performers of Modern Times?. Rafael Andia is the last actively performing artist of his generation from the traditional Spanish ?romantic? School, called the Tarrega School. This is a very expressive style, with highly demanding technique and a flamboyant style. Mr Tarrega set the corner stone for the modern technique back in the early 1900?s and method used by all players today.

What others have said about his performance: ?Closer to Falla?s music than any other guitarist I have heard? Colin Cooper, Classical Guitar Magazine Editor.
