Men's Luxury Sportswear Brand Nat Nast Taps RLM Integrated Business Software

Lyndhurst, NJ (PRWEB) October 17, 2009

RLM Apparel Software Systems (http://www.ronlynn.com) announces that The Nat Nast Company, Inc. (http://www.natnast.com), an authentic American designer of vintage-inspired luxury men's sportswear, has begun implementation of RLM's FashionManager? enterprise software solution at its New York City showroom and offices and South Norwalk, Connecticut headquarters. FM On-Demand?, a hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, will be utilized by Nat Nast teams for financial management and reporting, product lifecycle management (PLM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), retail collaboration through electronic data exchange (EDI), sales force automation (SFA), and integration with third-party logistics providers (3PL). The company expects to go live on the new system with approximately 30 users in January 2010.

"Being a small company with big ambitions, RLM was our optimal choice," noted Nat Nast CEO Lawrence C. DeParis. "FashionManager is an affordable, scalable, comprehensive end-to-end solution with an efficient implementation schedule that made a lot of sense for us. An important factor in our decision was RLM's extensive array of relevant implementations and the fact that their shared software is regularly updated with best practices from this like-minded group, which includes some of the top brands in our industry. The fact that they are a locally operated family-run business with a strong personal commitment to, and reputation for, outstanding customer service just made our decision that much easier."

In conjunction with management of key business processes, Nat Nast will utilize FM On-Demand to address specific business needs, including utilizing costing and integrated bill of materials tools to generate raw materials requirements, uploading inventories from a third-party distribution center in New Jersey, remote access by the national sales team for inventory and reporting, and integration with a soon to be added e-commerce solution.

"We look forward to working with Nat Nast as they grow their exciting business", added Andy Lynn, vice president of business development at RLM. "Our SaaS product is an ideal fit for this and other companies that require comprehensive system capabilities in an affordable, scalable, and rapid implementation package."

Kindy Strengthens Innovation Strategy With Selection of Centric Software PLM

Campbell, CA (PRWEB) June 22, 2011

Kindy SA, the French manufacturer and distributor of socks and children?s shoes, has selected Centric Software, Inc., to provide its product lifecycle management (PLM) system.

The company has purchased Centric 8?s Line Planning, Product Specification, Materials Management, Sourcing and Calendar Management modules. Kindy will use the Centric 8 PLM suite to accelerate new product introduction and increase the efficiency of product development.

?Centric?s strong apparel-industry expertise and experience were key elements in our choice,? says Nathalie Seguinot, Kindy?s CIO. ?We were looking for a solution that would help us improve process productivity and reliability, and that would facilitate communication within internal and external functions as well as with suppliers,? she continued. ?We expect the implementation of Centric 8 will also contribute to shortening new-product launch lead times, a critical part of the very competitive sock business.?

The custom system Kindy has used to date could no longer keep up with the company?s evolution and the introduction of new, technical product lines that feature complex construction processes, explains Stefano Lena, Centric?s vice president of global sales and European general manager. In addition, with a steadily growing amount of data to track and work with, the product development teams had to dedicate a large portion of their time to administrative tasks. Frequent need to manually re-key data increased the risk of duplications and errors.

Kindy?s management concluded that a comprehensive PLM system was its best solution, according to Lena. The company selected Centric after a thorough selection process, citing Centric 8?s focus on the needs of the apparel industry and deep understanding of the business. The company also appreciated the suite?s advanced functionality, and ability to integrate industry best practices in a 100 percent web-based application with user-friendly interface.

?We are very pleased that Kindy, a dynamic leader in its industry and strong innovator, has chosen Centric 8,? says Chris Groves, CEO of Centric. ?Innovative companies such as Kindy know that strategic investment in PLM is key to unlocking productivity, creativity and speed to market in their design, development and global sourcing teams.?

Kindy joins other Centric European customers including Balenciaga, Longchamp, Christine Laure, Groupe Overall (Dellalui, El Internationale), INTERSPORT France, Colmar and Le Coq Sportif. The new collaboration with Kindy solidifies Centric?s position as the PLM leader in Europe for apparel, luxury and fast-moving consumer goods companies.

Kindy SA (http://www.kindy.com)

Founded in 1863, Kindy is a leading manufacturer and distributor of socks and children?s shoes. The company produces more than 25 million pairs of socks each year, including sports, hypoallergenic, thermoregulatory and technical socks, along with the ?Socks for the Planet? line. Kindy distributes their products through specialized retailers and mass merchants. Based in Moliens, France, the company posted 2010 revenues of ?41 million.

Blowfish Shoe Launches New E-Commerce Platform Developed by RLM Software

Lyndhurst, NJ (PRWEB) March 10, 2010

RLM Apparel Software Systems Inc. (http://www.ronlynn.com) has completed development of a new e-commerce platform for trendy footwear maker Blowfish LLC. The new site (http://www.blowfishshoe.com/) is designed to enable the fashion-forward company to more directly and effectively share its brand and product message with consumers in a state-of-the-art online community environment that combines shopping with blogs, style content, social media links, and other advanced capabilities. The new Blowfish e-commerce solution is fully integrated with the shoe company?s existing RLM FashionManager? enterprise software to streamline order management, credit card processing, warehouse and inventory management, and customer shipments.

?We see e-commerce as the best possible way for us to convey our brand message and show the full breadth of our product line to consumers?, stated Blowfish Chief Operating Officer Greg Kearns. ?Unlike the many sites that focus on selling products, our new platform is first and foremost a brand-building site that also offers a shopping option. While we do expect to achieve significant sales through the site, we will also benefit tremendously from interacting with customers and learning about their interests and needs.?

The integration of the of the new e-commerce solution with the RLM business management software (ERP) streamlines both the online shopping experience and the order fulfillment process. All product details, pricing, and inventory information is entered and maintained in one system. Online shoppers can use keywords to find products by style, color, size, and other relevant criteria. With accurate and real-time inventory information, the system can add new products to the site as they become available and remove out-of-stock products to eliminate back-orders.

To fulfill an order, the system automatically links with a third-party credit card processing service to receive payment. Customers receive automated email notification confirming the order and to provide shipment tracking information when it ships. The RLM system is also integrated with Blowfish?s third-party warehouse provider to enable same-day shipment to the customer.

?The complete integration that RLM provides makes it possible for us to make e-commerce easy for both us and our customers,? added Kearns. ?This allows us to operate our online sales in much the same way as our wholesale business. The systems and processes we are putting in place now will also benefit us tremendously as we grow our business. The more you can integrate today, the easier it is to scale tomorrow. RLM has provided the systems and expertise we need to get to the next level of e-commerce.?

Centric Software Introduces Capture It for iPhone App

Campbell, CA (PRWEB) August 04, 2011

For the fashion and consumer goods industries, where a picture is worth at least a thousand words, Centric Software, Inc.?a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software for apparel, luxury goods and consumer goods companies?is bringing the power of mobility to photo capture and markup linked directly into the product development process with the patent-pending Capture It for iPhone app.

The new app will allow Centric 8 users to ?capture inspiration and ideas as they occur in the global marketplace, and instantly share with their team of designers, buyers and suppliers,? says Chris Groves, president and CEO of Centric. ?The Capture It for iPhone App lets designers?and their PLM software?collaborate beyond the traditional boundaries of the office, and move into the locations where inspiration and product innovation often happen.?.

The Capture It for iPhone App lets users take and upload photos directly to the Centric 8 PLM system quickly, accurately and easily, making them instantly available for review, mark-up and analysis. Key uses include:

1. Concept/trend board/storyboard process. Working with the Centric 8 PLM storyboard function, the new app allows designers to accurately capture trend inspiration to include in trend boards, and eventually, product lines. Capture It for iPhone captures trend ideas wherever they occur, whether modeled at runway shows or by ?sidewalk fashionistas.? The mobile use of photos with markup, combined with Centric?s powerful storyboard capabilities, makes it faster, easier, and, ultimately, less costly to get on-trend inspiration into the development process, says Groves.

2. Sample review. Simple, quick visual communication means that evaluating samples from suppliers becomes vastly more accurate and time efficient, explains Groves. Technical designers can more easily determine if samples meet specifications. Communication of changes back to the supplier becomes more effective with photos and the ability to associate them with styles in the Centric 8 PLM software system. Coupling this quick-image capture with the robust canvas and mark-up capabilities in Centric 8, says Groves, means that companies can deliver very specific and immediate mark-up comments to suppliers and all team members. ?Whether it?s to call out drape problems, or changes to points of measure, for example, Capture It for iPhone handles it,? says Groves.

3. Buying. On buying trips, the iPhone app can dramatically speed both transactions and the customization process. Reps can capture initial supplier offerings more accurately, as well as mark up and communicate back and forth with development specialists faster on requested customization or changes. On everything from product design to packaging customization with graphics, Capture It for iPhone capture and transmission of images and discussions is much more effective than e-mail, says Groves.

?Innovation?and product development?happens where and when it?s going to happen,? states Groves. ?Yet until now, product teams have been restricted to using PLM software to collaborate within the boundaries of the office place.? Inevitably, explains Groves, delays or failures in capturing and communicating product information resulted and adversely affected costs and quality.

?Mobile apps for PLM break those within-the-office barriers and restrictions, freeing the product and sourcing teams?and the PLM software they need?to meet product innovation and delivery demands wherever and whenever they take place,? continues Groves. ?Bringing mobility?s speed and convenience to Centric 8 PLM software, the Capture It for iPhone App provides a key tool to help product and sourcing teams capture inspiration, accelerate innovation, decrease costs and ensure the right products get to the market.?

Centric will market the Capture It for iPhone App as an optional module of its Centric 8 PLM software for apparel, luxury goods and consumer goods companies. It is the second mobile app that Centric has added to its PLM system for the fashion and apparel industry in recent months.

The apparel and technology industries have embraced Centric?s first mobile app, the Centric 8 Collection Book for Fashion iPad app, as the first PLM product for the apparel industry to link PLM system data directly to customers through an interactive mobile device. In a recent report from Technology Evaluation Centers, the IT research firm, analyst Kurt Chen states, ?The iPad app gives one more appealing reason for customers to adopt Centric Software?s PLM solution.?

The iPhone app, says Groves, adds a new dimension. ?What the cell phone did for personal and business communications, the Capture It for iPhone App will do for product innovation.?

Centric Software Launches Collection Management Module

Campbell, Calif. (PRWEB) November 01, 2011

Centric Software, Inc., is launching its product lifecycle management (PLM) collection management module, creating customer-specific product catalogs and assortments. The module is the first to leverage mobile devices for customer catalog presentation in the apparel and fashion, luxury goods and consumer goods industries.

Centric Collection Management enables marketing and merchandising to create highly targeted, dynamically updated, electronic Collection Catalogs for customer presentation. Using any computer with a browser-based internet connection, customers can log in to a personalized portal and view the individualized Collection Catalog that marketing, merchandising or sales persons created for them using the Centric 8 Collection Management module. Optionally, sales staff can use Centric's patent-pending Collection Book for Fashion iPad App to show assortment presentations when calling on customers at their offices or visiting with them at industry trade shows and buying events.

The Collection Management module links marketing, merchandising and sales teams?and their business processes and customers?with the Centric 8 PLM system for apparel and consumer goods companies. The web-based Collection Catalogs?or, alternatively, the Collection Book for Fashion iPad App customer presentations?synchronize dynamically with up-to-date product option and availability information in the Centric 8 PLM software for apparel and consumer goods companies so that customers only see up-to-date, accurate product information.

The new capabilities enable merchandising and sales teams to easily create and manage dynamic catalogs and collection presentations while eliminating the need for the paper-based catalogs that much of the industry relies on, according to Chris Groves, CEO of Centric. The Collection Management module allows companies to avoid quickly outdated and ?expensive printed catalogs, using Centric 8?s accurate product information to create and present customized, targeted and accurate catalogs. ?The customer?s experience and satisfaction improves,? says Groves.

Collection book creation

Using the most current product attributes, synchronized throughout the Centric 8 PLM system, merchandising, marketing and sales can offer customers collections that are truly customized for their needs?and that present accurate availability, price and product options. Customers can view their tailored collections in a customer-specific, web-based Collection Catalog, or sales staff can present the collection on Centric?s Collection Book for Fashion iPad App.

Flexibility in the module allows the marketing, sales or merchandising professional to create sub-collections and groupings, include the same items in multiple collections, and search on fabric, color, product and other codes. Additional features of the Collection Management module include the ability to:

???? ????Choose individual SKUs;
???? ????Present all available styles and options;
???? ????Specify product attributes to highlight;
???? ????Add styles with a simple checkmark;
???? ????Note product availability, ship dates;
???? ????Accurately reflect inventory;
???? ????Localize presentations for language requirements.

The Collection Management module allows marketing and sales staff to manage collection descriptions and, as necessary, override corporate pricing data provided by the Centric 8 PLM software for apparel, luxury goods and consumer goods companies to provide localized pricing and promotions. Salespersons can set filters to present online customized Collection Catalogs to customers, who then can share those collections with their own individual retailers or buyers. Unavailable products or options can be displayed as ?concept? items.

Whether an Internet connection is available or not, customers can view collections with Centric?s mobile Collection Book iPad App, the first mobile app to directly link data from a PLM system to customers through an interactive mobile device. Sales professionals then can upload orders into optional, integrated sales order systems.

?The Centric 8 Collection Management module?when used with the online Collection Catalog viewer capability, or with the optional Collection Book for Fashion iPad App?will bring all the benefits of PLM technology directly to the people who interface with customers, allowing them to develop customer presentations with a greater level of targeting and accuracy than ever before,? says Groves. ?The end result is the ability to meet revenue targets by removing barriers to sales and meeting the exact needs of the customer.?
